(AUS): A 45-year-old pastry chef has been sent to jail for three and a half years for a domestic assault that left his partner with bleeding to the brain, severe facial injuries and a fractured rib.
The Bunbury District Court heard yesterday, Gerhard Meister flew into a drunken jealous rage over a Facebook interaction.
After he beat his partner, he threatened her with a knife and ripped half of her hair out.
The woman was flown to Perth from the Busselton Health Campus for emergency treatment after she managed to escape and alert the neighbours.
Meister pleaded guilty to assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.
