Jason Douglas Slater
A sickness beneficiary who indecently assaulted three young women after luring them into hoax modelling photo shoots has been jailed for 28 months.
Jason Douglas Slater, 35, of Avondale, was found guilty by an Auckland District Court jury on three indecency charges in March and was sentenced by Judge David Wilson QC at North Shore District Court today.
One of the women was so distressed she ran naked from an office rented by Slater to be comforted by strangers.
Slater followed her, saying she did not understand what a modelling interview involved.
Judge Wilson said that he then "scuttled" down a fire escape and made off rapidly in his car.
Prosecutor Marc Corlett said that the model agency was nothing more than a cynical device to lure the young women into a lair where they would be at the mercy of a sexual predator.
