William Nicholas Cameron
The 21-year-old was been convicted of wounding a man by stabbing him in the neck in Muriwai in January 2016.
Cameron, of Huapai, pleaded guilty at the Auckland High Court this morning to wounding the man with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He also admitted recklessly damaging the Muriwai camping ground gates, which are the property of Auckland Council.
Police said the victim suffered a "deep stab wound" to his neck on January 9 and was taken to Auckland City Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
